The Alumni Association hosted their annual Alumni Leaders Symposium on September 26 for all alumni officers of their clubs and societies. Close to 100 alumni leaders were in attendance. Undergraduate Admissions hosted a student recruitment session to update alumni leaders on enrollment data and the admissions process for autumn 2015.
At the session, two outstanding alumni volunteers were recognized for their involvement as student recruitment volunteers:
Mary Thomas, a 1956 graduate of Ohio State and President of the
Capital Area of New York Alumni Club (and Past President of our club), was recognized for increasing Ohio State’s presence in the Albany region. Last year, she represented Ohio State at three area college fairs and dropped off materials to nearly 40 high schools. Applications in the region rose from 45 in 2013 to 58 in 2014, and the number of enrolled students from the region increased from four to 11. Our office heard from one student in particular who said that Ohio State was not on her radar until visiting Mary at a college fair.
