Annual Dinner 2013 recap:
A beautiful evening along the Caloosahatchee River in Ft. Myers provided the back drop for our annual dinner on March 12, 2013. Urban and Shelley Meyer were the honorary attendees at the Burroughs Home and Gardens. The Meyers were joined by former OSU head coach Earle Bruce, as well as club scholarship recipients Chelsea Torres and Tate Nordgren.
The evening began with a happy hour on the patio, and a meet and greet with the coach inside the home, before guests moved down to the river front for dinner. After dinner Chelsea spoke to the group about her experience at Ohio State the past 3 years. She was followed by Coach Meyer who spoke about his career, the 2012 perfect Buckeyes, and the upcoming season and new recruits. He gave props to Shelley for installing a play featuring QB Kenny Guiton that went 30 yards for a TD against Indiana. But also made sure to point out her inaccurate prediction that recruit Von Bell would not sign with the Bucks. (he did sign). Club board member Rich Byrnes concluded the evening with a guitar accompanied rendition of Carmen Ohio.
